Xiaoshan district's GDP up 18.9% in Q1

Xiaoshan statistical authorities announced on April 27 that the district's GDP grew 18.9 percent year-on-year to 45.03 billion yuan ($6.97 billion) in the first quarter of this year, local media outlets reported.
Statistics show that the above-designated-size manufacturers in Hangzhou, meaning those with annual operating revenues of roughly $3.1 million or more, realized a 24.9 percent year-on-year growth in added value.
The above-designated-size enterprises generated a 6.9 percent year-on-year growth of the district's GDP growth in the first quarter of the year.
Statistics also reveal that the catering industry is recovering. The overall business volume of takeaway meals in the first quarter of the year was 213 million yuan, up 110.3 percent year-on-year.
According to local customs authorities, the district's imports and exports were valued at 22.31 billion yuan in this period, up 36.4 percent year-on-year. The growth came from increasing overseas orders of textile products.
