Fuyang recounts achievements made during past decade

Fuyang district, Hangzhou has undergone tremendous changes over the past decade, said Wu Yufeng, the top official of Fuyang, at a briefing on the district's achievements over the past decade on Sept 19.
The GDP of Fuyang had grown at an average annual rate of 6.9 percent from 5.3 billion yuan in 2012 to 87.3 billion yuan ($12.34 billion) in 2021, said Wu.
He added that the fiscal revenue had increased from 7.8 billion yuan in 2012 to 17.5 billion yuan in 2021.
The district has also made several achievements in the development of a comprehensive transportation network over the last decade. Major transportation projects such as the Hangzhou-Huangshan High-Speed Railway, the Huzhou-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway and Metro Line 6 were all introduced during this period.

The city has also made significant strides in green development by removing highly polluting industries and introducing high-tech firms.
Over the past five years, Fuyang has spent 10.8 billion yuan to support the development of the education sector and built 35 kindergartens, primary and middle schools.
The district has also been enhancing its services for the elderly. For example, 22 nursing homes have been built over the past 10 years.
Livelihoods have improved as well. The average income of residents in urban and rural areas in Fuyang was 69,316 yuan and 42,051 yuan in 2021 respectively, an increase of 112 percent and 142 percent compared with 2012.
