The 2023 Hangzhou Liangzhu Day was celebrated in the city on July 6 with the "Liangzhu Ancient City · Acropolis of Athens" dialogue between Chinese and Greek civilizations, which took place in Yuhang district.
Both Liangzhu Ancient City and the Acropolis of Athens are symbols of the splendid civilizations of China and Greece, respectively. Today, they are both used to promote heritage preservation, research, and inheritance as well as to contribute to the progress of human civilization.
Spanning thousands of miles and years, how can China and Greece, Liangzhu and Athens coexist harmoniously and share their beauty?
Distinguished guests from the two countries gathered to discuss the exchanges between Chinese and Greek civilizations based on their practical experiences. Through roundtable discussions, they shared their insights on the protection and interpretation of cultural heritage from an interdisciplinary perspective, deepening their understanding and appreciation of each other's cultures.
During the celebrations for the 2023 "Hangzhou Liangzhu Day," a variety of events with wide public participation will take place, such as academic research, dialogues, educational programs, and exhibitions. The aim is to promote and raise awareness of the value of Liangzhu culture and the achievements in heritage preservation, research, inheritance, and utilization.
