Hangzhou's Yuhang district recently unveiled further details of its plans for the Liangzhu Cultural Corridor, introducing 10 major projects and 20 tailored policies.
Situated in the northern part of Hangzhou, the Liangzhu Cultural Corridor was initially proposed by Yuhang at the end of 2022. The corridor, centered around Liangzhu culture, also incorporates other elements, including the Grand Canal, Jingshan tea, and modern digital culture.
Local officials emphasize that, while prioritizing physical preservation, the corridor will also promote ecological conservation, industrial development, rural vitalization, supporting facilities, and cultural exchanges.
The 10 major projects cover areas such as cultural inheritance and protection, culture and tourism integration, industrial upgrading, and strengthening urban-rural public services.
Examples include the construction of the Liangzhu Cultural International Exchange Center, Jingshan Tea Culture Park, and Jingshan Tea Cultural Tourism Integrated Park, along with the initiation of the comprehensive protection project for Liangzhu Port.
