A delegation of 18 government and education representatives from West Flanders, Belgium, led by Governor Carl Decaluwe, visited Zhejiang on Oct 22 for their 12th exchange visit.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and its Second Affiliated Hospital (Zhejiang Xinhua Hospital) to experience Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments firsthand.
During their visit to the hospital, the delegation experienced TCM therapies such as ear acupuncture, fire cupping, and massage. Impressed by the treatments, Governor Decaluwe remarked, "Traditional Chinese Medicine is incredible! Health and digital healthcare are key areas of cooperation between our provinces, and I'm committed to building bridges for lasting collaboration between our doctors, teachers, researchers, and students."

He Yuzhou, Party secretary of the hospital, expressed hope for stronger ties with Wes Flanders, which could bring international medical expertise and management practices to the hospital.
This year marks the 24th anniversary of the sister relationship between Zhejiang and West Flanders. Earlier this year, the Zhejiang-Belgium Life Sciences Innovation Center was established at the hospital, and partnerships were launched with Belgium's Ghent University to develop an international joint laboratory.
