Shared by Nature: Former UN official highlights youth's role in sustainable development
Youth play a key role in achieving sustainability around the world, said Erik Solheim, former Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP)
Solheim made the remarks while attending a forum on biodiversity and sustainability in Hangzhou City of east China’s Zhejiang Province on Monday.
The former UN official said there was not enough progress at the UN biodiversity conference, or COP16, that recently concluded in Colombia, calling on nations to do more to protect nature.
The UN climate change conference, or COP29, is scheduled in Azerbaijan next week.
Solheim told CGTN that developed countries should provide more support to the world’s least developed to help them adapt to climate change.
