The Xiaoshan Sports Center consists of a stadium, a gymnasium, a natatorium or swimming pool complex, a fitness center and a tennis hall, as well as basic related facilities such as a gateball venue, a basketball court and fitness square. It covers a total area of 112.615 mu (7.51 hectares), and includes 47,000 square meters of building area. It has a green coverage of 40 percent.

The gymnasium was built in January 1989 with an investment of 20 million yuan ($3.16 million). It has 5,100 square meters of building area and 2,600 seats. It is able to hold various competitions such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, weight lifting, wrestling, judo and wushu, as well as meetings and performances.

The gymnasium is currently open to local residents for exercises such as badminton and volleyball or to hold non-profit performances. The gymnasium will be a venue for the 2018 sports meeting of Xiaoshan district.
