"The gathering of talent resources and an optimized talent structure is one of the major advantages of Binjiang district," said Zhan Min, Party secretary of Binjiang, at a conference in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on May 5.

The Second International Talent Day Binjiang was a gathering of worldwide talents and professionals.

The first region to set up "Talent Day" in Zhejiang, Binjiang has placed great emphasis on talents development and launched an overseas high-level talent introduction program, entitled "5050 Program", in May 5, 2010.

Binjiang aims to become a cradle where dreams come true, said Zhan, who noted that supportive entrepreneurial culture, preferential policies, quality services and pleasant living environment are essential to attract talents.

Addressing the conference, Zhang Yi, president of Beihang University Hangzhou Research Institute, a joint venture between Beihang University and Binjiang, said that the institute will inject new impetus into the industrial development of Binjiang by leveraging its advantages in information technology.

"The fact that we have the Huawei global training center in Binjiang is because we believe the district will provide fertile ground for talent growth at Huawei Technologies Co Ltd," said an official from the company.
