Hangzhou district envisions world-class high-tech park

Binjiang district plans to develop a world-class high-tech industrial park in 2020, which was revealed at a meeting held in Binjiang district, Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on Jan 3.

2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Hangzhou High-Tech Zone, as well as the year in which Binjiang will implement its ambitious plan to develop its high-tech parks into world-class parks.

According to a report released at the meeting, the district aims to develop itself into an innovative, digital, and international district in 2020.

To achieve its innovation-related goals, the report says that Binjiang should enhance efforts to attract talent, strengthen innovation platforms, and optimize its environment for innovation. 

Binjiang has always prioritized attracting skilled workers when it comes to developing its economy. This year, the district plans to build a top-notch platform and improve policies in order to attract high-caliber professionals, according to the report. 

To achieve its digitalization goals, Binjiang will focus both on developing the digital economy and applying digital technology.

According to the report, the district is hoping its digital economy can generate 300 billion yuan ($43 billion) in revenue in 2020 and maintain a growth rate of more than 15 percent.

The report says that Binjiang aims to become the district with the most developed digital economy in China.

In 2020, the district plans to double down on efforts to improve education, increase affordable housing, and improve people's livelihood.
