The Hangzhou Seawall Ruins Museum held a fashion show in Jianggan district, Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on April 20.

The show was organized by the Jianggan Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, and aimed to help local online clothing customization platform YBRen display its latest fashions.

YBRen, which started online operations in April 2015, is affiliated with Hangzhou Beidu Science and Technology Co.

Fang Qin, chairman of the company, said that this was the first time that her company has held a fashion show at a museum.

"It feels completely different walking amongst the archaeological ruins," she said.

During the novel coronavirus outbreak, YBREN has been able to achieve growth through online services and customization. In February, the platform received 4.2-million-yuan ($592,944) worth of transactions in a single day.

The Hangzhou Seawall Ruins Museum opened on Jan 7, 2019. It is the first of its kind in China.

The museum was built based on the archaeological site of a section of an ancient seawall, which was unearthed during construction.

The seawall can be dated back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). In order to preserve the site, the local government decided to build a museum around it.

The museum covers an area of 6,200 square meters and has five separate halls with different themes, giving visitors the chance to learn about the ancient Qiantang River culture.
