Hangzhou held a meeting to discuss expanding the role of health codes on May 14.

Zhou Jiangyong, Party secretary of Hangzhou, urged the city to consider long-term use of the Hangzhou health code system.

Zhou said that the Hangzhou health code is the outcome of a lot of hard work from many different people, and it has made significant contributions to controlling the epidemic as well as promoting social and economic growth.

The Party secretary also said that more efforts should be increased to use the health code system to provide better services for residents.

He also stressed protection of data security while working to further develop the system.

A number of top officials in Hangzhou attended the meeting. Representatives from the Hangzhou data resource bureau, Hangzhou health commission, Hangzhou sports bureau and the Hangzhou market regulation bureau delivered reports on how best to utilize the health code system.
