Hangzhou Metro Line 6 to open to traffic

The Hangzhou subway system will welcome a new line soon, after the first-phase of Metro Line 6 met the requirements for opening to traffic at a recent evaluation meeting.
The first-phase project of Metro Line 6 starts at Shuangpu Station in Zhejiang New City and ends at Fengbei Station. The first-phase of the metro line, which runs a total length of 27 kilometers, passes through Xihu district, Binjiang district and Xiaoshan district.
Metro Line 6 is able to carry up to 2,260 passengers at a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
The new metro line is equipped with advanced air conditioning units to help save energy and makes use of high-caliber air purification technology to improve air quality.
Metro Line 6 will play a significant role in integrating Fuyang district with urban Hangzhou, as the Hangzhou-Fuyang Intercity Railway, which is currently under construction, begins at Meiyuan Xiangshan Station along Metro Line 6.
