After years of preservation and restoration by the local government and forestry authority, the Caodang Wetland of North Lake in Yuhang district, Hangzhou has maintained great biodiversity. Owing to its unique geographical location, the wetland contributes to flood storage and drainage for the Tiaoxi River in Hangzhou in the rainy season each year.
