Headquarters of AstraZeneca East China starts operations in Hangzhou

The headquarters of AstraZeneca East China in Gongshu district, Hangzhou, was launched at the first Zhejiang Digital Medical Healthcare Industry Hangzhou Summit on July 29.
AstraZeneca is a British-Swedish multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company headquartered in Cambridge, England. The company entered the Chinese market in 1993.
The headquarters of AstraZeneca East China is regarded as the one of the five major headquarters of the company in China. It is involved in operation management, medicine sales, development and research of new medicines and medical equipment, as well as medical data.
The headquarters includes a digital medical innovation center, which showcases internet and big data technology-based medical solutions and introduces a new retail sales mode for drug stores. The headquarters will also set up a laboratory for digital medicine.

The iCampus co-built by the government of Hangzhou and Gongshu district and AstraZeneca was also put into operations.
Six pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including Neptune and Zestdoctor became the first batch of companies to start operations in the industrial park.
"The launch of the headquarters of AstraZeneca East China and iCampus will lay a solid foundation for Gongshu to develop its digital medical healthcare industry," said an official of the district.
