Locals and visitors wearing traditional Chinese costumes in the Yanzhou Ancient Town in Jiande county, Hangzhou recently tried their hands at ancient sports that were popular during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) to welcome the upcoming Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.

"By encouraging people to try ancient sports such as touhu (pitch-pot) and Go, we wish to carry forward traditional Chinese culture and encourage more people to lead a healthy lifestyle," said Hong Yanfei, an official of the government of Meicheng town, where the ancient town is located.

The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 is set to be held from Sept 10-25, 2022 in Hangzhou.
