Bidding farewell to 2022, the organizing committee of the Hangzhou Asian Games is calling for a Chinese character that can best wrap up the preparations for the Games of the year.

From now until Dec 31, submissions can be sent to the Games' official email address info@hangzhou2022.cn or its official Sino Weibo (the Chinese style Twitter) account.

In addition to inviting a panel of experts, the public is encouraged to vote and choose their favorite Chinese character of the year. Online voting will be available on various official platforms from Jan 1 to 15, 2023.

2022 has been an important year for the Hangzhou Asian Games. It was postponed once but preparations have continued. All sporting and training venues for the Games were completed and opened up to the public. Volunteer recruitment has resumed and is expected to finish before March 2023. A variety of promotional events both at home and abroad have been held, Asian Games songs have been solicited, and the Asian Games Fun Run series has resumed overseas.
