The Hangzhou delegation won the most gold medals among the delegations to the 17th Games of Zhejiang Province, which were held in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, from Nov 18 to 28, 2022.

The team led the medal table with the most medals and highest total score, with both figures hitting record highs. It was also honored for its outstanding sportsmanship and contribution to the development of athletic sports for the 2018-2021 period.

These achievements can be attributed to the city's constant innovation of its athlete reserve system in recent years. Since the beginning of last year, Hangzhou's sports bureau has spared no effort to cultivate athletes for key sports, further integrated the development of sports and education, and strengthened sports education for teenagers and the cultivation of sport talent in echelon formation.

Hangzhou also held more than 20 sporting events in 2022, including the ice hockey and figure skating events of the 17th Games of Zhejiang Province. The promising young athletes in the competitions are expected to shine in greater arenas.
