More than 10 Chinese and foreign journalists visited Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, to learn about the construction of the eastern Chinese province's common prosperity demonstration zone.

The first stop for the journalists was Waitongwu village in Xihu district, which is renowned for growing Longjing tea for generations and is one of the main tea plantations in the West Lake area.

Not only does it boast beautiful natural scenery, but the village has also been transformed into an artistic block since 2010, attracting teachers from the China Academy of Art to settle and create there.

"When we're busy farming, we grow tea, pick tea, and fry tea, and when we have free time, we practice painting," said a 62-year-old farmer as he demonstrated his painting skills. With a few simple strokes, he brought a group of lively shrimp to life on paper, leaving foreign journalists in awe.

With the trip running until April 27, the journalists will also visit Huzhou, Shaoxing, and Jinhua in Zhejiang, exploring their high-quality economic development, public services, coordinated urban-rural development, and ecological conservation.

The China exploration trips organized by the All-China Journalists Association started in 2020, inviting foreign media correspondents in China to explore the country's grassroots to experience the current state of China's economic, social, and cultural development, as well as to showcase the real, holistic China.
