The signing ceremony for the Fuchun River Film and Television Base project took place in Tonglu county, Hangzhou on Jan 5.
With a total investment of 60 billion yuan ($8.38 billion), the first phase, amounting to 22 billion yuan, will be set in Jiangnan town, spanning over 133 hectares. This phase aims to establish the Huace Film and Television Technical College and a picturesque film and television shooting base along the Fuchun River.
The college is poised to be the nation's premier technician institute, specializing in film and television arts and technical skills and nurturing talent for the rapidly evolving film industry.
The base, set against the backdrop of a historic and culturally rich city combined with modern urban aesthetics, will be distinguished by its emphasis on outdoor landscape shooting and cutting-edge special effects production.
Moreover, the project envisions the creation of a world-class cultural and tourism destination, leveraging the scenic beauty along the Xin'an, Fuchun, and Qiantang rivers, the three most-renowned waterways in Hangzhou.
