The 12th Spring Breeze Reading Awards ceremony took place at the Zhijiang branch of the Zhejiang Library in Hangzhou on April 19.

The reading awards were first established 12 years ago and have become an annual event where writers, scholars, publishers, and reading enthusiasts from across the country gather in Hangzhou to review achievements in Chinese book publishing over the past year.

At this year's event, writers and scholars such as Wang Meng, Mo Yan and Luo Weizhang respectively received various annual book awards, while renowned book bloggers Observer 1379 and Novelist Puckio were awarded the New Youth Trend Award.

At the age of 90, Wang Meng continues to write tirelessly. He recently released his new work Sunset Glow, embodying his passion for living with uplifting sentences and singing about the inevitable setbacks and hardships of life. Throughout his 70-year career as a writer, Wang's works have always displayed a zest for life, shining with the glow of the times.

The magical drama Crocodile is a transformative work by Nobel laureate Mo Yan. Through the story of a crocodile and its myriad desires, Mo sheds light on the inner world of each character, creating a parable of the times.

Mo's connection with the Spring Breeze Reading List runs deep. Twelve years ago, he was honored at the inaugural awards ceremony shortly after winning the Nobel Prize in Literature. Now, with his new work, Mo has once again won the highest honor – the Spring Breeze Platinum Book Award.
