Fuyang's streets come alive with first ever half marathon

The first Fuyang Half Marathon ignited Fuyang district, Hangzhou on April 21, attracting 6,000 participants from around the world.

The race started at Lushan Times Square in Fuyang's central business district, passing through landmarks such as the Fuchun Mountain Villa designed by China's first Pritzker Prize winner Wang Shu, the iconic Dongwu Cultural Park, and Guanshan Park. The finish line for the half marathon was at Lushan Times Square, while the fun run finished at Guanshan Park.

The carefully planned course showcased Fuyang's natural scenery, cultural charm, and urban landscapes, demonstrating the city's history, reality, culture, and nature.

Along the route, runners were met with cheerleaders, instrumental performances, traditional Chinese opera, and dance performances, as well as 10 aid stations to cheer on participants and provide refreshments.

After fierce competition, Kenyan runner Kipngetich Abiud won the men's half marathon with a time of 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 6 seconds. For women, Chinese runner Tang Xiaofen clinched the title with a time of 1 hour, 19 minutes, and 31 seconds.
