Elegance of Xianghu, China's first large-scale digital lake performance, premiered at Hushan Plaza in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou on June 30.

Directed by Sha Xiaolan, chief director of the Hangzhou Asian Games opening and closing ceremonies, Elegance of Xianghu creatively extends and showcases the culture and history of the Games. The story unfolds through the perspective of a digital character called Wave Rider, journeying from the ancient Kuahuqiao canoe to the Liangzhu ruins, the Wu-Yue rivalry of 2,500 years ago, and the Song Dynasty (960-1279), culminating in the lighting of the Asian Games flame.

As night fell, the stage lights illuminated, and the digital figure appeared on the giant screen, rekindling memories of the Asian Games. Dancers moved gracefully on the circular, liftable main stage, enhanced by multidimensional laser fountains and all-encompassing water and fire effects, creating vivid cultural scenes that transported the audience through millennia of history.

The fusion of modern technology and traditional culture left the audience in awe. "I was deeply impressed by the Asian Games ceremonies on TV, but experiencing it live blew me away. The final scene with the Wave Rider lighting the main torch was truly spectacular," remarked one attendee.

The show will continue to evolve, with adjustments every one to two months, ensuring the cultural journey is always a novel experience for audiences.
