Hangzhou unveiled the new 2.0 version of its "Love Fridge" on Nanshan Road on July 8. The upgraded initiative now includes a bookstore, allowing residents to enjoy free ice water and select a book for free.
The fridge, stocked with over 10,000 bottles of mineral water donated by local communities and businesses, is paired with a five-tiered bookshelf featuring over 200 books on subjects like social science, literature, and art. Donations came from community groups, the Confucian Temple book market, and enthusiastic locals.
Residents can now pick up both refreshing water and a free book from the upgraded "Love Fridge" and bookstore, blending physical and intellectual nourishment.
