Artists and cultural figures from Taiwan, including painters, poets, photographers, and representatives from six Taiwan universities, gathered with cultural representatives from Linping district, Hangzhou, at the Taiwan Youth Artists Creation Base in Chaoshan Scenic Area on July 11.

Eighteen-year-old Chen from Taiwan, visiting Hangzhou for the first time, expressed her excitement and sense of familiarity with the Chinese mainland. "This is my first time flying off the island, and I've already taken over 500 photos. Seeing West Lake, a place I've read about in textbooks, was such an incredible experience."

Li, an art teacher from Kaohsiung Normal University, was also visiting for the first time. Carrying a large bag of art supplies, she quickly began creating, capturing the unique charm of Jiangnan architecture. "I primarily study Western painting but also practice ink wash painting. Art requires a strong cultural foundation, and the mainland is our cultural root. I hope for more exchanges in the future and would love to bring my students here to 'find their roots.'"

In February, the Taiwan Youth Artists Creation Base was established as a platform for cultural exchange between Hangzhou and Taiwan. Since then, cultural figures from both regions have frequently gathered to share their artistic talents and foster connections through calligraphy, painting, poetry, and photography.

During the event, Taiwan guests also visited the E-Fashion Town, the Jiangnan Water Village Culture Museum, and the Zhu Bingren Grand Canal Art Museum. They experienced intangible cultural heritage items like shadow puppetry, learned about the development of Hangzhou's high-end manufacturing, and appreciated the efficiency and convenience of digital community services.
