To alleviate the high costs and pressures of job hunting, Gudang sub-district in Xihu district, Hangzhou, recently launched the Qinghe Post initiative, offering seven days of free accommodation for fresh graduates seeking jobs in the city.
In less than a week, over 200 people have applied online, and all 20 available rooms were quickly booked. The effort received widespread acclaim from young job seekers.
A girl surnamed Zou from Shaanxi province, who recently received a job offer from Hello Bike, struggled to find suitable accommodation upon arriving in Hangzhou. Through the "Hangzhou Talent" app, she learned about the Qinghe Post's offer and promptly applied for a room.
"The post provides us with a temporary place to stay, making us feel at home in the city," Zou said.
The post boasts a prime location with convenient transportation. Located close to the popular spot Ooeli, it offers a perfect retreat for young job seekers looking to unwind and enjoy the cityscape after a busy workday. The post is well-equipped with amenities, including a free gym, billiards table, and karaoke room, ensuring a balance of work and relaxation.
A local official noted, "We will continue to support young job seekers and entrepreneurs with housing. Additionally, we plan to expand employment services, including job consultations, recommendations, and interview coaching, to help young talent settle in Hangzhou and thrive in their careers."
