China Railway Shanghai Group's Shanghai Railway Bureau announced on July 15 that the Yangtze River Delta "super loop" high-speed train (G8388/9/8) has completed its first month of operation, transporting about 110,000 passengers with an average occupancy rate of nearly 90 percent.

As the first ring-shaped high-speed train connecting Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, and Hangzhou, the "super loop" links the major cities of the Yangtze River Delta while also connecting remote areas to these central hubs.

Since July 1, about 4,000 passengers have traveled daily on the loop. The train route, which passes by numerous red tourism sites (such as the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai and the Nanhu Lake Red Boat in Jiaxing), scenic landscapes (including Yellow Mountain, Jiuhua Mountain, Daping Lake, Qiandao Lake, and West Lake), and ancient cultural landmarks (Nanjing and Hangzhou's historical sites, and the ancient Huizhou culture in Hongcun), caters to the public's cultural and tourism needs.

Notably, the loop makes several stops in western Zhejiang and southern Anhui. Since the start of the summer travel season on July 1, a daily average of 830 passengers have traveled to popular scenic destinations such as Chizhou, Jiuhua Mountain, Huangshan West, Huangshan North, and Qiandao Lake, marking an increase of nearly 20 percent compared to the initial days of operation.
