Hangzhou's Lin'an Shuangxikou Reservoir Hydropower Station, the first medium-sized gravity arch dam reservoir in Zhejiang, passed inspections and started generating power on July 16.

The green electricity generated by the hydropower station will be integrated into the main power grid, providing an additional eco-friendly power source for businesses and residents during the peak summer period.

Located on the upper reaches of Changxi Creek, a major tributary of Changhua Creek in Lin'an district, the station features two 2-megawatt generators. It is expected to generate over 10 million kilowatt-hours annually, saving 3,000 metric tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 7,580 tons, equivalent to planting 400,000 trees.

The electricity produced by the reservoir will be transmitted through 168 new power poles and 12.8 kilometers of new power lines established by the State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company. This will be enough to supply nearly 3,000 households for a year, based on an average consumption of 10 kWh per day for a three-person household.
