A batch of outbound goods from Hangzhou Panasonic Home Appliance Co recently cleared customs at the Hangzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone and departed from Xiasha Port.
This shipment, valued at about 5.4 million yuan ($742,435), included 22 standard containers filled with rice cookers and washing machine components.
"Xiasha Port is located just 10 kilometers from the bonded zone, making it more convenient and cost-effective than the previous Zhapu Port," said the customs official from Panasonic Home Appliance. Additionally, shipments from Xiasha Port benefit from a 200-yuan per container subsidy for sea-river combined transport.
In June, the Hangzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, in collaboration with Qianjiang Customs and Xiasha Port, launched a new "zone-port linkage" land-water combined transport model. This model simplifies the process with "one-time declaration, one-time inspection, and one-time release," improving customs efficiency for enterprises within the bonded zone.
In its first month, the new model facilitated 33 customs declarations, with goods worth 24.53 million yuan transported via Xiasha Port. Panasonic Home Appliance, an early adopter, expects to save over 100,000 yuan in the second half of the year thanks to the model.
