Zhejiang's mid-year courier report: 149 billion packages delivered, up 13.7%

The Zhejiang Provincial Postal Administration released the postal industry performance report for the first half of 2024 on July 22.
From January to June, the postal industry completed 15.62 billion deliveries, a 13.4-percent year-on-year increase. Specifically, the courier sector handled 14.9 billion packages, marking a 13.7-percent growth.
During this period, the postal industry's revenue (excluding direct income from the Postal Savings Bank) reached 78.24 billion yuan ($10.75 billion), a 5.5-percent increase, while the courier sector's revenue was 67.74 billion yuan, up by 6.5-percent.
In terms of city performance, Yiwu led the province with 6.01 billion packages delivered, a 16.7-percent increase, and courier revenue of 13.99 billion yuan, a 3.4-percent rise. Jinhua (excluding Yiwu) ranked second, with 2.03 billion packages delivered, up by 29.9 percent, and courier revenue of 5.7 billion yuan, up by 20.3 percent.
Nationally, the State Post Bureau reported that in the first half of 2024, the postal industry completed 89.42 billion deliveries, a 20.5-percent increase. Of these, the courier sector accounted for 80.16 billion packages, up by 23.1 percent. The postal industry's revenue totaled 806.36 billion yuan, a 10.6-percent increase, with the courier sector contributing 653 billion yuan, a 15.1-percent rise.
