The annual charity sale of lotus leaves and seedpods from West Lake has begun once again, a beloved summer tradition for Hangzhou residents.

Held at the scenic Smile Pavilion in Liulang Wenying (Orioles Singing in The Willows) Park, the sale offers fresh lotus leaves and seedpods harvested daily to help manage the lotus growth.

Each morning, lotus caretakers harvest the plants, and by 8:30 am, the "Love Lotus" set, priced at 10 yuan ($1.4), is available for purchase. All proceeds go to charity. Due to high demand, numbered tickets are distributed at 7 am, and sales are limited to one set per person.

Visitors are reminded to prepare for the heat, bring exact change, and follow orderly guidelines during the sale.
