The Youth Development Cities Forum of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum kicked off in Hangzhou on Aug 14. Key speakers included A Dong, first secretary of the Communist Youth League, and Liu Jie, vice-secretary of Zhejiang's Provincial Party Committee and Party secretary of Hangzhou.
A Dong emphasized the importance of fostering youth-friendly cities, promoting urban innovation, and supporting youth development in urban areas. Liu Jie reiterated Hangzhou's commitment to building a youth-centered city that encourages youth employment, quality of life, and the forging of global connections.
The event showcased the national "Youth Stations" map and launched the Youth Development Cities Initiative. Notable speakers included Chinese Academy of Sciences academician Shi Yigong and Olympic champion Xu Jiayu.
