Lili, the beloved giant panda at Hangzhou Safari Park in East China's Zhejiang province, celebrated her 19th birthday on Aug 16.

That morning, the caretakers at the park hurried to prepare the birthday party venue for the special occasion.

According to the caretakers, 19 panda years are equivalent to about 57 human years, making putting Lili on the older end of the age spectrum. This year also marks Lili's 12th year at the park, making her a long-standing "veteran employee".

The glass walls of Lili's enclosure were adorned with balloons, colorful flags, and banners wishing her a happy birthday.

At around 10 minutes to 10 am, Lili appeared. However, instead of indulging in the delicious spread, she made her way to a wooden perch and settled down for a nap.

Caretakers said that Lili was experiencing a pseudopregnancy, a phenomenon where female giant pandas exhibit pregnancy-like behaviors and signs despite not being pregnant. As a healthy adult female panda, Lili's pseudopregnancy is expected to last one to two months, during which time she may experience increased sleep, decreased appetite, and heightened sensitivity.

Despite her being in an abnormal state, Lili posed for photos with visitors, showing her friendly nature and giving everyone a memorable moment to cherish.
