Did you catch a glimpse of the night sky? Hangzhou was recently graced with the first supermoon of the year, casting a soft and magical glow over the city. The supermoon reached its peak at 2:26 am on Aug 20.
A supermoon is a full moon which occurs while the moon is at its closest distance to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter than usual. This celestial event happens one to four times a year, with 2024 to see four supermoons. The next ones will appear on Sept 18, Oct 17, and Nov 16.
