The 2024 Hangzhou Marathon is set to take place on Nov 3. The event will feature three races: a full marathon, a half marathon, and a fun run, with a total of 36,000 participants. The full marathon will feature 20,000 runners, the half marathon 12,000, and the fun run 4,000. Registration will open soon.

The Hangzhou Marathon, known for its scenic route, professional organization, and cultural significance, is a World Athletics Gold Label event and one of China's most prestigious races. The marathon serves as both a competitive event and a celebration of Hangzhou's rich culture.

This year's race will feature a new course layout, with all events starting at the Huanglong Sports Center. The full marathon will finish at the Olympic Sports Center Stadium, the half marathon at Citizen's Square, and the fun run at Pinghu Qiuyue, or Moon Over the Peaceful Lake in Autumn, one of the 10 must-see sights at West Lake.

In preparation for the event, the marathon's organizers have launched an online campaign inviting suggestions on how to improve the race experience, encouraging public participation in shaping this iconic event.

November is shaping up to be a "marathon month" in Zhejiang, with races scheduled every weekend, including the Shaoxing, Jiande, Jiaxing, and Quzhou marathons. Runners will certainly not be bored during this marathon-packed time of year.
