The 2024 Jiande Marathon is set to take place on Nov 17 at 7:30 am. The event's organizing committee has announced that registration is now open, with a total of 12,000 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The marathon will start at the Jiande Museum and feature three events: a full marathon (2,000 participants), a half marathon (4,000 participants), and a 4-kilometer fun run (6,000 participants). Registration fees are set at 150 yuan ($21) for the full marathon, 120 yuan for the half marathon, and 60 yuan for the fun run. Participants must meet the age requirements, with full marathon runners needing to be at least 20 years old and half marathon runners at least 16.

Registration will remain open until Sept 30 at 6 pm, or until all spots are filled. Runners can sign up via the official Jiande Marathon website, the "Jiande Marathon" WeChat account, or the "Digital Heartbeat" app.

The committee has issued a reminder that marathon running is a physically demanding sport with inherent risks. Participants are required to undergo a medical examination at a certified hospital to ensure they are fit to compete.
