Qiandao Lake whiskey gains global attention

Chun'an county, home to Qiandao Lake, is making waves in the whiskey world, local media outlets reported.
The 2024 China International Whiskey Development Conference and Qiandao Lake International Whiskey Carnival recently kicked off in Chun'an. Over the course of three days experts and representatives from renowned whiskey regions around the globe discussed whiskey production, marketing, and cultural exchange.

"This is a historic moment for Chinese whiskey," noted He Yong, secretary general of the China Alcoholic Drinks Association. He emphasized that whiskey, a symbol of global distilled spirits, is experiencing unprecedented growth in China, with new distilleries emerging rapidly.
Chun'an, a rising star in China's whiskey industry, is positioning itself to become the country's premier whiskey production hub. The region is leveraging its pristine ecological environment, rich natural resources, and unique climate, which are ideal for whiskey production. With four whiskey companies already established and more in the pipeline, Chun'an is fast becoming a key player in the domestic whiskey industry.
The event also featured China's first whiskey equipment and supplier exhibition, with 45 domestic and international companies participating. Whiskey from renowned regions like Scotland, Japan, the United States, and France was showcased.
