The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) wrapped up in Beijing on September 6. Upholding the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, China and African countries have achieved notable outcomes in infrastructure cooperation.

Africa is China's second-largest overseas contracting market. In the past decade, Chinese enterprises have signed contracts surpassing $700 billion and delivered projects valued at over $400 billion. These ventures, spanning transportation, energy and public services, have fueled economic and social development across the continent. Chinese firms have crafted or upgraded over 10,000 kilometers of railways, nearly 100,000 km of roads, around 1,000 bridges, nearly 100 ports, 66,000 km of power transmission lines and 150,000 km of essential communication networks throughout Africa.
