The Zhejiang-Fukui Dinosaur Exhibition opened at the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History on Sept 28, a collaboration with the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum in Japan.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the sister museum agreement between the two institutions in 1993, highlighting their long-standing friendship.
The exhibition spans 1,200 square meters and showcases all 13 dinosaur species identified in Zhejiang and Fukui, featuring over 70 fossils and models. Key sections include "What is a Dinosaur", which introduces dinosaur classification and showcases rare fossils like the Jeholornis and reconstruction models; "Dinosaurs of Fukui", featuring the region's six identified dinosaurs; and "Dinosaurs of Zhejiang", presenting seven species identified in the province, including artifacts from local museums.
Yuan Hongming, director of the museum, emphasized the exhibition's role in promoting cultural exchange and enhancing cooperation between Zhejiang and Fukui. The exhibition will run until Feb 16, 2025, inviting visitors to explore the latest discoveries and research achievements of both regions.
