The 4th Swiss Open Air Film Festival, organized by the Swiss Embassy in China and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai, opened in Hangzhou on Oct 3.

This six-day event showcases films focused on Swiss economic achievements, along with an international food festival offering a cross-cultural culinary experience.

Jurg Burri, Swiss ambassador to China, highlighted the country's blend of creativity, innovation, and culture during the festival's Beijing opening, emphasizing how Switzerland has become an economic power despite limited natural resources.

The Hangzhou edition features three documentaries, two dramas, and two animated films, offering an in-depth look at Switzerland's economic history. Alongside the films, the food festival offers global delicacies, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.

Istvan Kocsis, Swiss deputy consul general, noted the significance of this year's theme – the economy – as it marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement. The festival runs until Oct 8, with film screenings from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Winland Center, while the food festival runs from 5 pm to 9 pm daily.

Attendees are required to book in advance via the Winland Center's official WeChat mini program.
