Hangzhou International Airport opened its new international-to-domestic and domestic-to-international transfer halls on Oct 24, offering a streamlined transfer experience that saves travelers over 100 minutes on customs and transfer procedures.
With the new system, passengers can now enjoy through-ticketing and baggage-through services, eliminating the need for re-checking luggage or additional security checks.
Around noon, seven passengers arriving from Dubai on Air China flight CA762 completed transfer formalities in under 40 minutes at the T4 transfer hall before continuing to cities like Shenzhen, Yantai, and Shantou.
The new service currently covers flights from Dubai, Almaty, Moscow, and Hong Kong, allowing seamless connections with domestic destinations. Passengers now receive boarding passes for both international and domestic segments at their departure point, reducing hassle and wait times at the airport.
On Oct 25, the airport welcomed its first domestic-to-international connecting flight, marking a milestone in fully operationalizing all three international transfer categories –international-to-international, international-to-domestic, and domestic-to-international.
