After eight months of preparation, China's first large-scale immersive digital performance, Xianghu Lake · Elegant Charm, is set to debut.
On June 30, performers will navigate Xianghu Lake on a traditional boat, journeying through 8,000 years of Hangzhou's history to reignite the main torch of the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
Last October, the Asian Games opening and closing ceremony team signed a cooperation agreement with Xiaoshan district, ensuring that the ceremony props, including the main torch tower Qiantang Tide, are permanently preserved at Xianghu Lake.

The new Xianghu Lake · Elegant Charm Park features a unique design with a round, adjustable main stage set amidst picturesque lake and mountain scenery. The stage, along with projection equipment, movable screens, a musical fountain, and the Qiantang Tide light sculpture, creates a captivating performance environment. The stage can automatically adjust its height based on the lake's water level, ensuring optimal viewing.
The park's centerpiece is the Qiantang Tide main torch tower, a permanent installation for an international sports event which is the first-of-its-kind. The viewing area in front of the stage, shaped like a crescent moon, accommodates 1,214 seats, with design elements inspired by waves and lotus flowers, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
The park's design and performances are boat-themed, paying homage to the ancient "First Boat of China". The theme is reflected in the torch tower's base, the grandstand design, and the digital performers' entrance.
