Located near the southern section of the Grand Canal in Hangzhou is the largest and most well-preserved railway heritage area – the Hangzhou Xiaoshan West Railway Station Historic and Cultural Block.

This area sees the convergence of the ancient Zhedong Canal, the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Line (China's first provincially operated railway), and the Xiaohang Road (one of the first provincial highways), creating a rich historical tapestry.

The area is currently undergoing a renaissance, with Zhenong Dongchao Art Park as its focal point. Nearby areas like Xixiangli, Xiaoran Shanjie, and Dongyue Temple Cultural Park are revitalizing the ancient Zhedongt Canal with vibrant, youthful, and trendy activities. This transformation is not only breathing new life into the historic canal but also fostering both economic and cultural growth.
